Thomas E. Salisbury - September 3, 2004

RUTLAND -- Thomas E. Salisbury, 50, of Rutland died at 11:53 a.m. Friday (Sept. 3, 2004) at his home.

A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rutland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rutland Legion Hall following the celebration of life. Memorials can be made to the Rutland Park-Tree Fund c/o Chuck Tooley, Rutland; Wenona Ambulance c/o Fran Morris, Wenona; American Heart Association Greater Midwest Affiliate; or the Illinois Chapter for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.

Tom was born Oct. 25, 1953, at home in Rutland, son of Edward and Ardythe Decker Salisbury. They survive.

Also surviving are his children, Melanie, Tyler (Lisa) and Madison, all of Normal; a grandson, Greyson Salisbury, Normal; one sister, Kathy (Duane) Knepp, Rutland; four nieces, Trina (Rich) Montgomery, Rutland; Amanda (Mike) Knepp-Behary, Bloomington; Vicki (Craig) Hock, Rutland; and Kristina (Tate Allen) Knepp, Rutland; five great-nieces, Cyleste, Saireena, and KaTesa Montgomery and Simone and Lacie Behary; two great-nephews, Decker Montgomery and McKoy Allen; several aunts and uncles; and many friends, including Debbie.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School and then attended IVCC junior college.

Tom worked for Salisbury Trucking Company, Rutland; SMF, Inc. Minonk; and Hart-Carter, Toluca. He was an avid rock collector and enjoyed having his morning coffee with friends.

He will be remembered for his unique personality with a good soul and a kind heart.

Tom will always be our guardian angel. We will miss him deeply.
